NEW BREMEN – Covington has played and won eight games in ten days against several very good softball teams and in the process the Lady Buccs have been able to keep the arm of Meg Rogers fresh.

This proved vital on Tuesday as Rogers put together a dominating performance in the circle by tossing a one-hitter in a 14-0 run rule victory over New Bremen. Rogers struck out nine of the 17 batters she faced as she allowed just two base runners on a hit and a walk in her seventh win of the season.

Covington recorded 17 hits on the day and scored two runs in the first, five in the second, one in the third, one in the fourth and five in the fifth. The Lady Buccs played flawless in the field by not committing a single error.

Karyanne Turner and Nigella Reck both went 4-for-4 at the plate. Turner drove in four runs and Reck connected on two doubles.

Meg Rogers helped out herself at the plate by going 2-for-2 and driving in three runs, while Mara Newhouse, Reagan Lemp and Maggie Anderson also connected on two hits each and Kamryn Barnes singled as well.

Covington improves to 13-2 overall and travels to Bethel tomorrow (Thursday).
