TROY – The boys and girls track teams competed in the Troy Up And Running Invitational on Saturday to open the 2023 season against several larger schools.

The girls finished in tied with Lima Senior for 11th place with 11 team points, while the boys finished tied with Greenville for 17th place with four team points.

Elyza Long finished sixth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:02.75 and sixth in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:44.22.

Carlie Besecker finished fourth in the long hump with a distance of 14-0.25 and came in tenth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.55.

For the boys, Preston King finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 5-6.

Covington will compete in the Milton Quad Meet on Tuesday.
