COVINGTON – Covington defeated Bethel in four sets on Tuesday in a critical conference matchup to improve to 6-7 overall and 6-3 in the TRC.

“The team put a complete match together,” said Covington coach Ellie French. “I am very proud of their effort.  We have been working hard in practice on our blocking and it paid off tonight with 12 blocks. Great Job!!”

The Lady Buccs got out to a fast start by building large lead in the opening set, but the momentum shifted as Bethel got itself back into the game. Fortunately a big kill by Dakohta Kenworthy but Covington up 1-0 with a 25-22 win.

The Lady Buccs showed heart by battling back late in the set to give themselves a chance to go up 2-0. Unfortunately for Covington, Bethel was able to escape with a 25-23 win to tie the match at 1-1.
