LADY BUCCS RUN RULE NORTHRIDGE

DAYTON – The Covington Lady Buccs pounded the ball at will in a 29-1 run rule victory over Northridge to improve to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the TRC.

Covington scored 11 in the first, 5 in the second, 11 in the third, 1 in the fourth and 1 in the fifth inning thanks to 25 hits accumulated by 12 of the 14 players on the roster.

Nigella Reck connected on two home runs and Meg Rogers hit one as well. Jayda McClure tripled, while Taylor Foutz, Maggie Anderson, Erika Gostomsky and Reagan Lemp all doubled once.

Erika Gostomksy, Reaghan Lemp and Whitney Burns combined to toss a one-hitter. Gostomsky picked up the win as she allowed one hit, gave up no walks and struck out nine batters in three innings of work. Lemp entered in the fourth and Whitney Burns closed out the contest.

Covington travels to Troy Christian tomorrow (Wednesday) in a makeup game.
