GIRLS FINISH 3RD, BOYS 5TH AT PIQUA

The Covington cross country teams competed in the Piqua Invitational Under the Lights on Saturday.

The Covington girls finished finished third as a team with Elyza Long leading the way by a taking third as an individual. She finished in a time of 19:58.4.

Johanna Welborn finished 14th (21:46.1), Kassidy Turner 25th (22:54.9), Eve Welborn 35th (23:34.4), Delaney Murphy 38th (23:39.3), Ella White 81st (26:12.2), and Kylie Brown 84th (26:30.8).

The boys finished fifth as a team with Asher Long winning the boys race in the time of 16:32.3 – the only runner to finish under 17 minutes.

Tanner Palsgrove finished 27th (18:43.6), Calub Hembree 43rd (19:07.6), Preston King 45th (19:08.9), Beck Wilson 46th (19:09.0), Calub Ryman 62nd (19:36.9), and Mic Barhorst 85th (20:05.2).
