BUCCS FALL TO 1-6 WITH LOSS TO LEHMAN

SIDNEY – The Covington Buccaneers dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-5 in the TRC after a 53-34 loss to Lehman Catholic on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers led 28-25 at the break, but managed just six points in the second half on a three-pointer and three free throws to 28 second half points put up by the Cavaliers.

In the contest, Covington made 10 two-point field goals, three treys and converted on five of nine free throw attempts, while Lehman made 1t two-point shots, three three-pointers and was 12 for 20 from the line.

Lehman jumped out to a 17-11 lead after one, but the Buccs outscored the Cavaliers 17-8 in the second period to take a three-point lead at the half. Lehman reclaimed the lead in the third 33-27 and pulled away in the final frame by outscoring the Buccaneers 20-4.

Covington was led in scoring by Britton Miller, who finished with 11 points.

The Buccs look to rebound next Wednesday and Thursday in the Buccaneer Holiday Classic where they will face Bradford in the opening round.
