It was a memorable week for the Covington Lady Buccs as they battled tough against state ranked Jackson Center and captured wins over Bethel and Northridge. Along the way, sophomore Taylor Kirker surpassed a milestone of 1000 career assists.

SEPTEMBER 24, 2022 – COVINGTON
Covington hosted state ranked Jackson Center in High School Volleyball Saturday morning and dropped the match in three sets, fell to JC 23-25, 19-25 and 20-25.  The defeat drops Covington’s record to 9-3 (7-1).

Covington’s Junior Varsity rolled to a 25-7, 25-12 victory to improve to 11-1 (8-0).

Taylor Kirker – 3 aces, 15 assists, 1 kill, 1 solo block and 8 digs.
Nigella Reck – 3 aces, 9 kills, 2 block assists and 9 digs.
Lauren York – 3 aces, 2 kills and 9 digs.

Carlie Besecker – 2 aces, 2 assists, 2 block assists and 8 digs.
Kearsten Wiggins – 1 ace, 1 block assist and 6 digs.
Reaghan Lemp – 1 ace, 1 assist and 2 digs.
Hailey Naff – 4 kills.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2022 – BRANDT
Covington traveled to Bethel High School for a TRC match against the Bees and came away with a three set victory, 25-14, 25-22, 25-19. The Lady Buccs are 10-3 overall and 8-1 in the TRC.

In the process, sophomore Taylor Kirker recorded her 1,000th assist in the 3rd set.

Covington’s JV squad defeated Bethel 25-12, 29-27. They are now 12-1 (9-0).

SEPTEMBER 29, 2022 – COVINGTON
Covington hosted the Northridge Polar Bears in a TRC match on Thursday evening. The Lady Buccs won in straight sets, 25-10, 25-8, 25-6. Covington is now 11-3 (9-1).

Covington’s Junior Varsity continued their winning ways with a 25-6, 25-5 victory.  The JV team is now 13-1 (10-0).

Covington will travel to New Bremen on Saturday to play #2 DIII Versailles, #2 DIV New Bremen and Lima Shawnee.
